Pebbles Volume 3 - The Acid Gallery

Flabbergasted, that's how I felt back in 1982 after the first spin of this record which a friend had just picked up from a second-hand store. Just getting into The 13th Floor Elevators and Nuggets stuff, this collection blew everything to pieces. I just couldn't believe that this music, these songs could really exist. Like some space/time anomaly had caused a piece of vinyl to slip in from a parallel universe. (No, I wasn't on drugs…) Seperate stories could be told about each unique song on this legendary compilation. From the utmost ridiculous ('Like A Dribbling Fram' by The Race Marbles) through the demented ('The Reality of Air Fried Borsk' by The Driving Stupid) to haunting psychedelic rock ('Suicidal Flowers' by Chrystal Chandlier which can only be desribed as the best song The Doors never recorded…)
But, cutting short, as an amazing testimonial of the wild effects of psychedelic drugs on the mid-sixties teenage suburban population, no record will ever beat this one. Believe me.

Voices green and purple, they were down by the trees… Comin' thru the windows, crawling up the walls…"

wow, all these songs are burned at like half-speed...the BONUS track sounds great though, I just wish I could hear the others at the proper speed...

OK...I used the Easy-Share link, and converted m4a to mp3 using SWITCH instead of AltoMP3 Gold, and WOW...phenomenal. I have Nuggets, and this is SO beyond that fine piece of vinyl. Thanks!

First let me thank you. That being said, 64kbps is pretty hard on the ears. Here's hoping you might consider a higher rate!

even with the low bit rate, this stuff is killer diller. i will look for the actual cd now, if it's even out there anymore.
thanks.

"Suzy? Suzy creamcheese, this is the voice of your subconcious mind speaking, Suzy". Screw bit rate and conversions and all that crap, I heard it loud and clear and I'm still rocking out.

You can't get this album(or any of the other pebbles series) on cd without the company ruining the playlist and the cover, you have to get it on vinyl
